Hello all I passed 900

Test was easy i will give u some things that U need to take care before take exam.

The BIG KEY to this exam if you are planning to sit this at some stage is to MAKE SURE you know your DNS and Network Access Protection (IPSec, PEAP ). Be shure to spend time going over and over this stuff. A majority of the questions that I got were DNS and NAP related, there were a couple of questions about Securing VPN and Wireless Connections but hardly anything on NTFS and Share Permissions.
You will also need a good understanding of WSUS and how to configure upstream servers.

Stuff that i used

Microsoft academy course 6421 Configuring and Troubleshooting a Windows 2008 Network Infrastructure 8 days
MCTS Self-Paced Training Kit (Exam 70-642): Configuring Windows Server® 2008 Network Infrastructure
Testout 7 days online trial

Passed this morning with a 966/1000. Overall the test was pretty easy. Most of the questions were common sense and only a couple required you to actually calculate something (i.e. subnet ranges)

Training Material:

Microsoft Self-Paced Kit

I passed last week with 1000/1000. I thought the 2003 70-29x series exams were a lot harder.

make sure you know your NAP + DNS related topics very well.

I followed the MS Press self paced training + trainsignal videos, about two months of study. I think I over studied but it's handy to actually know the stuff inside out than just enough to pass the exam. The MS Press book is probably overkill, get yourself the trainsignal or cbt nuggets which come with transcender practice exams which should prepare you well. The MS Press book also comes with a CD with loads of practice exam questions.

big tip: make sure you know the differces between different DNS scenarios, such as stub zones, conditional forwarders etc, refresh intervals etc....

On to 640 now. going for MCITP-SA
