Once again I'm the first one to post in the MCTS Virtualization track :) A few minutes ago I cam back from the exam center where I passed my MCTS Server Virtualization exam.

To prepare for it I relayed mainly on my experiene and on a quick read on the official MOC for the associated course (sorry can't recall the code/number at the moment but plaese feel free to ask).

I've got 60 questions with no simulation or drag and drop, all in all the exam was pretty easy and it took me around 30 mins to complete all the questions with an allotted time of around 140 minutes (including the extension for non native english speakers).

What I would suggest for anyone preparing for this exam is to stick with the official Syllabus as everything came exactly from there, if you have a chance use the official course material as everything you need to know comes from there. In the spare time I even read Sybex preparation book for the previous version of this exam, don't forget this is based on Hyper-V/Windows 2008 R2, and it was a total waste of time, paper and ink as the book in a few words don't cover 10% of the exam objectives and is written so poorly I regret I have it in my library :)

Well now only the MCITP Exam is left for my Virtualization Administrator certification and I can finally teach courses withing this track.

Cheers Lethe.

Congrats Lethe! Well done on your success!
I want to do this certification, and I was wondering what material you used to prepare. I notice you've mentioned original syllabus, but the official reading material recommended on the Microsoft site is the self-training kit for 70-652 NOT 70-659. Is this what you used, is yes, how did you manage? I understand that the 70-652 was for Windows2k8 NOT R2. Also, how much time do you spend preparing, just out of interest.

All the best on your future endeavours and well done again!
Regards,
Vim.
