Hello. I'm in process to deploy my mind to start with the new generation of VMware Certified Professional or VCP of the last version of vSphere 5 and it's VCP 510 exam.

I'm reading in firts vmware website...

http://mylearn.vmwar...457&ui=www_cert

...and I can see that:

Already a VCP4? There is no course requirement until February 29, 2012.

We can choose three certification paths, described in VMware site:

Then... does anyone have the test?

Ok, we can discusse in this post.

Best regards and good luck!

Has anyone taken the vcp-510 exam recently? If so, how long do you have to answer al the questions? Are there simulations like in Microsoft exams? How many questions?

Is there a special whats new exam?

Thanks,

Passed on May 25 with only one week study after class due to business needs. I'd advise at least two and probably a month to be safer..

I read Brian Atkinson's book, Scott Lowe's book, and reread the class materials. Practiced only a little, so I got only a 317--but, as they say, "it's not a beauty contest". Hands-on is vital. Too many of the questions are worded in a way to catch those who don't have the screens fixed in their mind. I will not be cutting my exam prep time that close in the future...

Not too bad. Overall probably more fair than a lot of others. The Exam Blueprint available from VMware covers all and is covered in Brian's book...

You need hands-on for the test.  Trial version downloads from vmware and the how to run esx on workstation PDF from xtravirt can help you set up a "free" lap.
