VCP 5:

1. Download free doco from VMware using tools from xtravirt: http://xtravirt.com/...der-for-vmware/
(especially look for the test "blueprint" that reviews what topics to study)
2. How to set up VMware lab on a mid-level PC or laptop: http://xtravirt.com/...kstation-6-5-2/
(works with both Workstation (including newer versions) and current VMware Player and esxi 5.x)
3. If you're just starting out, remember you need an autorized class ($3000+ for the 1-week version, often much less expensive at your local college, do your research)
4. The two best books are:
a. http://www.amazon.co...&keywords=vcp 5
b. http://www.amazon.co...&keywords=vcp 5

You won't pass the test without acres of practice. Hands-on. Trust me, don't try.

Vmware is head and shoulders above Citrix (who basically only sells training to partners and big customers, no current books nor practice software) and Microsoft Hyper-V (although Server 2012 and Windows 8 are advertised to change that some time, the smart money is to aim for the biggest target).

I hope that helps!!

Always remember this thought. So always do practice it will help you a lot, especially in getting use of what needs to be getting used to.
