Hi Everyone

Can anyone explain why we required DR & BDR in BC/NBMA network but not in other OSPF network types ?

Thanks,

Koolpep

No DR and BDR required on non broadcast P2p links there is no need to have DR-BDR because each link is Point to Point. while on a Broadcast and other WAN Multi-access frame relays we need DR-BDR routers in order to avoid extra flooding of PDUs on the network, keeping in mind that OSPF packet has a TTL of 1.
