Cisco announced that they are updating CCNA exam.

 

Briefly, there is NO frame relay anymore, it is a good news ;)

I actually liked Frame Relay but hey... we can create the same scenarios using OSPF in some cases and let's not forget DMVPN - a little different and we can put the cherry on top using IPSec.

I guess Frame Relay would be re-introduced at a later revision, just like they had re-introduced RIP.

Overall, the new CCNA appears to be relatively difficult compared with the previous one. But, the syllabus is broad.

Further, the topics have been included:

 

  • Configure and verify a single-homed eBGP (External Border Gateway Protocol) IPv4 connection.
  • Verify IPv6 Access Control Lists (ACLs).
  • Local Switched Port Analyzer (SPAN)
  • Configure and verify Multilink PPP (MLPPP)
  • Configure, verify, and troubleshoot multi-area OSPFv3 for IPv6 networks
