    Cisco Cert books

Sweet, that's the answer I was looking for. Thanks

    Cisco Cert books

Yes I already have BCMSN and BSCI, and work as a network engineer managing LAN and WAN links, plus wireless, security and voip. The question was about which is the best book to buy for the TSHOOT exam

    Cisco Cert books

Please, what is the difference between: Troubleshooting and Maintaining Cisco IP Networks (TSHOOT) Foundation Learning Guide: Foundation learning for the CCNP TSHOOT 642-832 and CCNP TSHOOT 642-832 Official Cert Guide and which one will be better for me to self-study for the TSHOOT exam? I already have the BCMSN and BSCI qualifications, which I bought the Official Cert Guides for, and I always thought what is the Foundation Learning Guide... Thanks for reading.
  4. Hi, Since I upgraded our firewalls to 8.3 and subsequently the forced upgrade of AnyConnect to 2.5.2001 I have had some users reporting problems in trying to use their AnyConnect. Basically it just doesn't work, I get an error: "The VPN client driver has encountered an error." And sometimes another message precedes the above message: "AnyConnect was not able to establish a connection to the specified secure gateway. Please try connecting again." However, it only seems to affect some people. Any ideas? Thanks for reading

    SIP Trunks

Yes I can add that command - so I guess I have a CUBE license, great! Thanks

    SIP Trunks

Isn't the CUBE license included in SPServices?

    SIP Trunks

I need to configure a real world SIP trunk. My boss wants it terminated on our 2811 to use the PVDMs in the 2811 as processors, and then route the calls to it from Call Manager. Thing is, is this even possible? Would I not end up having a SIP trunk running from the 2811 to the endpoint and another SIP trunk running from CM to the voice router? Or, once I terminate the SIP trunk on the router, would it then become a gateway? At the moment we run C2800NM-SPSERVICES 12.4(15)T10 on our voice router and 7.1 on Call Manager. In this site, the Call Manager and the voice router are on the same subnet. But on our remote sites we would like to implement the same design, and the link between the voice router and CM will be over the WAN. At the moment we have ISDN lines terminated on our voice routers and then used as gateways in CM for each site. Thanks for reading.

    HSRP tracking remote IP addresses

Hi Pappyaar, Thanks but I believe I have the solution, using enhanced object tracking. Is this the process you were going to show me? I am setting up a test scenario as we speak.

    HSRP tracking remote IP addresses

Hi Guys, I have a site with 2 routers using HSRP. Router A has the main connection whilst router B holds the backup line. Currently we track via HSRP the mainline interface. But if the WAN goes down behind the tail then the interface stays up and our backup line doesn't take over. How can I track an IP address beyond the main tail line, for example the ip address of the interface on the router at Head Office? Thanks for reading.
  10. I want to find a good book about Cisco Call Manager - the underlying technologies and configuration of... Our company is about to upgrade to V7, from V4. We recently had a big problem and I realised how little I knew about it all. I need to learn about the architecture and technologies involved, how CM itself works regarding gateways, lists, hunts, all that stuff, and the protocols that talk between to the voice routers. I see there are lots of books out there, a lot quite out of date, and hoped someone could recommend a good one. Thanks for reading
  11. easy - it uses port 80 and so is covered by a web access policy rather than a firewall - just create an exception
  12. Hi Peeps, I'm a network engineer and am trying to give certain people in our organisation access to the iTunes store. I'm trying it first of all on my PC. When I click on iTunes Store in the app, the screen changes and the bar along the top shows that it's trying to do something, but it just stays like that for ever and ever. I've set up a filter on our firewalls to show messages from my PC and can't see any traffic being blocked, and I can't see any configurable options in the iTunes prefs to assist accessing the iTunes store. Thanks for reading - any iDeas?

    Wierd POP3 behaviour

Right guys, here is an important lesson - never believe anything unless you've seen it with your own eyes! When I was told it works when bypassing the PIX I wasn't told that what actually works is a Test from a different pc, not that pc in question doing a send/receive. Which I checked properly, and guess what, it's not the pix, as it still doesn't work when bypassing the pix. So, lets try barking up a different tree. Thanks guys for your inputs

    Wierd POP3 behaviour

I can't telnet to the mail server no, and yes I opened the ports. I have only been told that it works when the pix is being bypassed, as that was done tried last week when I was away. I will have to confirm that with my own eyes before I take this any further.

    Wierd POP3 behaviour

There's not many users, less than ten and certainly nowhere near the 50 it's licensed for, and the one in question has outlook with 4 email addresses popped to it, one of which isn't sending or retrieving. I'm sure it's not the licensing.
