  1. Cisco 7604 memory utilization isnt a CCIE topic! Id suggest putting this on another forum.

  3. More depends on IOS I believe. 12.4(25c) seems to support ipv6 on the SVI. Router1#conf t Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z. 4. Hi, All depends which workbooks you want to use. INE topology (as a workbook provider example) and recommendations can be found here: http://www.ine.com/topology.htm There are already threads on this site with regards to which workbooks are best (Narbik/INE etc).
  5. Cisco 360 Learning Program Core Knowledge Waiver Beginning April 1, 2010, Cisco will allow Cisco 360 Learning Program students who attend a Cisco CCIE® Routing and Switching or CCIE Voice workshop to request a waiver and skip the Core Knowledge Section of the CCIE lab exam. All waiver requests must be approved by the workshop instructor. No end date for the Core Knowledge Waiver has been announced, but Cisco will provide at least 60 days’ notice before discontinuing the waiver. During a Cisco 360 Learning Program workshop, students complete a series of performance assessments that demonstrate their understanding of the CCIE material and serve the same purpose as the Core Knowledge section of the exam. Therefore, Cisco 360 Learning Program students who use the waiver will not be required to type out answers to the Core Knowledge questions and will be allowed to move immediately to the next section of the lab exam. To qualify for the waiver, workshop students should contact their instructor 45 days in advance of their scheduled lab exam and provide the following information: * Student's name * Student's email address * Student’s Cisco.com username * Name, date, and location of workshop attended * Student’s scheduled lab date and location
  6. Using multiple HSRP groups under the interface maybe an option .. it obviously wont form any HSRP active/standby adjacencies with another router but will provide the multiple gateways youre after. eg interface FastEthernet0/0 ip address x.x.x.1 standby 22 ip x.x.x.2 <-- GW1 standby 33 ip x.x.x.3 <-- GW2
  7. Configs would be more helpful in this scenario. Further to Noobs suggestion, possible things to look into: 1/ RIP requires a seed metric to be specified when redistributing routes into another protocol .. has this been done? 2/ If issue is with iBGP into IGP (disabled by default) - Use the bgp redistribute-internal command to enable redistribution of iBGP routes into IGP.
  8. An incomplete ARP entry typically means that the device attempted to ARP for the IP address and didnt receive a response. Obvious fix is to check cabling, NICs, configured IP addresses/masks etc etc. If you want to refresh the table then "clear ip arp xx". If you want to generate an ARP request "ping x.x.x.x". You can also 'debug arp' .. this should be done with caution as, depending on number of hosts and timers, can be a pretty large output. Start at layer 1 and work upwards.
  9. Hi – Interesting discussion and thought Id add my 50 cents. Did my CCIE last year so have the scars and come out the other side. I didn’t get a pay rise for the next position I took afterwards. It’s a global recession. However, it certainly put my resume in the ‘to interview’ pile and will continue to do so. The CCIE is a learning curve which isn’t about dollars but about self improvement. If there’s an architecture job being advertised are they going to ask the engineer with 10yrs architecture skills or the engineer whos spent a year doing the theory and practicing in a lab? Its an easy decision. CCIE isn’t about money .. you’ll learn, you’ll improve, you’ll gain confidence and it will open doors. Those doors will lead to experience which will pay the dollars if thats the end goal. One of the guys at work told me when I started that gaining the CCIE cert its not the end .. it’s the beginning. Ive found that to be one a very true statement.
  10. Hi, Can you post the sh ip bgp sum, sh ip bgp and sh run | b router bgp?
  11. There are no partial marks for the OEQ - its either 21 or 0. So yes - this section must be passed to obtain the overall lab and OEQ 80% minimum pass.

  14. First of all .. hard luck with failing the lab. Keep the faith and best of luck for next time. In my opinion 2-3 sentences is more than adequate for the answer. As the proctor states .. you just need to write enough to demonstrate to the examiner that you understand the question. If you can do this in one word great. This is only a 30 minute section so it would be unreasonable to expect a long explanation.
  15. Thanks for the input Ginkgo. Was having a few issues with the environment and noticed RPF fails so stripped the config back to basics to see the behaviour of the command before and after. I think youre right .. the show ip rpf is specific to mcast so I'll re-add the pim config and see what happens Thought that maybe this should reflect IGP without necessarily using mcast which is incorrect. Usage Guidelines Use the show ip rpf command to display the information that IP multicast routing uses to perform the Reverse Path Forwarding (RPF) check for a multicast source. When performing the RPF calculation, the router can use multiple routing tables (the unicast routing table, Multiprotocol Border Gateway Protocol (MBGP) table, Distance Vector Multicast Routing Protocol [DVMRP] routing table, or static multicast routes) to determine the interface on which traffic from a source should arrive (the RPF interface). Because the RPF check can be performed from multiple routing tables, the show ip rpf command can be used to identify the source of the retrieved information.
