  5. Hi guys, I've received call from customer asking me to troubleshoot connectivity problem from site A to site B. Let say: Site A = 1.1.1.1 Site B = 1.1.2.1 What I did was 1. login into the pix firewall 2. run sh log to find where the log being kept 3. after log server is identified, i run find / -name pix.log to fine the location of log file 4. Ask the site A to do continous ping to site B to make sure the traffic hitting the firewall 5. I run tail -f pix.log | grep firewallname | grep 1.1.1.1 to see whether is there any traffic or not 6. If I see traffic, means the firewall is good rite since it can pass the traffic 7. If there's no traffic, means that it doesn't go thru the firewall Is there any step that I miss? Correct me if I'm wrong.. The customer asking me is there possible a route issue on the firewall.. but I'm not sure how to check it. Any idea guys? I've ran show route but there's a lot of routing in the firewall...

  13. Normally, we can remove cisco pix rules by put "no" in front of the rules... it's fine if we only have a couple of rules to be removed...but how about if we've thousands of rules to be remove? How you guys do it... Is there any way to put "no" automatically in front of the pix syntax... Normally I just use notepad2 for rules editing and do it manually (one by one). Example... To remove, just put "no" in front of the syntax.. Any advice would be most appreciated. Thanks
