    CCNA Voice (The Challenge Begins)

    Early troubleshooting challenge, can any one help please? lab pic is attached. GNS3 lab from CCNA Voice book by cisco press. xp running on virtual machine was able to lease IP from the dhcp, with successful ping to DHCP and CME. But both the CIPC and IP Blue phones on xp where not able to see the tftp server, except when the tftp server is specified manually in the phone settings.     Tftp server problem on Ubuntu!

    I am having similar issue. I was able to ping my host from the router but the I can't access the tftp server it always timed out. any idea how to solve

    Salam Mohmoud. Thank u for the help. sh ip bgp rib-failure says admin dist, that's what I thought. but when I was watching the videos he didn't change anything and he have both *> in his bgp routing table. IOS version is 12.4 so "no synch" is on by default "next-hop-self" is for something else. anyway thank you.

  8. Why should the loopback address be used in the session target command? Relates to: Configuring VoIP Dial Peers A) The call fails if the interface goes down. B) The interface will never shut down. C) The call will use an alternate path if the interface shuts down. D) The call will never fail as long as the router is operating. My choice is B, but D is some how correct too. What do you think?

    Hi, As we all know the CCVP study materials have around for quite some time, even the updated ones that come out couple months ago. My question is, while those who are interested in CCNA VOICE are waiting for the study materials to come out, is there any past CCVP study guide that closely match the new CCNA Voice?
  11. with GNS3, I believe you can simulate many diff. types of labs. all what you have to remember is that the routers use port#/interface# instead of module#/port#/interface#; so you may need to adjust lab(s) labelling, I used to print it out in re-label it according to devices available in dynamips. good luck

    Troubleshooting Eigrp!

    Thanks to all, First disable auto summary and manually summarize 172.16.0.1 - 172.16.7.1 : with ip summary-add eigrp AS 172.16.0.0 255.255.248.0 on [R3s] s1/0 as you can see with the command above the .8.1 add will not be included in the ad. hence y the ping failed. but after enabling auto summarization the whole class B net is advertised, which will include the .8.1 add. side note: if you issue : net 172.16.0.0 0.0.255.255 will be wasting many addresses, we can accomplish this by summarzing the first 8 and advertising the last by it self: net 172.16.0.0 0.0.7.255 and net 172.16.8.1 0.0.0.255 We use to get some question like this back then, from the experts in this forum; but now we don't get them any more, I like this type of practice b/c most likely Pass4Sures will no help.
