  1. Windows 7 70-680 exam

Just wanted to see if anyone has recently taken the Windows 7 exam (70-680) and what their thoughts were on it? What were the recent books you used that were a good source? I am taking a Windows 7 course and hope to take the exam sometime in March or April Thanks!! I am in the USA.
  2. CCENT

Whats a good book to start with for the CCENT? Are you in the USA? I am in Virginia.
  3. Passed Security+ [SY0-201]

How many questions are on the exam? How much longer will they be offering this version?
  4. CCENT

Is the CCENT still a good way to start getting experience with Cisco? I have never really worked with Cisco at work. Did not know if this is still recognized. Trying to get out of Desktop Support.
  5. I have my A+ and my MCP with the XP test. What would you do? Currently I am in Desktop Support so I do not have any real Server experience. What test should I take or prepare for? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  6. Exam 70-642

Someone with alot of Desktop experience have a very tough time with this exam? I do not work on servers at work and do not have one at home. Is it realistic that I can study for this and pass?
  7. I dont have my MCSE and was just looking to try and take one of these exams to pass to handle the job requirement. I have only pretty much done Desktop for the last 10 years. I guess maybe going with the Exam 70-642: TS: Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure, Configuring may be best?
  8. I may get an interview at a company and they are wanting their hire to pass one of the below exams by the middle of December. I am a Desktop Support technician and have been doing it for about 10 years. I am not experienced in SQL and I am not a developer. 9. Another question, do you want to have the MSI Studio on the same server as the Desktop Authority?
  10. So far I have downloaded the trial version of Scriptlogic's MSI. I have walked through creating an Adobe MSI. With using my work PC, I uninstalled my Adobe Reader 7 and then started the MSI Studio. I did the steps as suggested in the documentation. It went through the installation and seemed to have no errors. I saved the packaged. My question now is what is the best way to test the MSI? Should I go ahead and use Desktop Authority? If I use Desktop Authority, what do I need to copy over (files and folders) from the project source directoy over to the server with DA? In addition, I created two desktop computers with just XP on them and named one DEPLOYMENT and one REPACKAGE, but so far have not done anything with them. Thanks for your help B!
  11. We use Desktop Authority! I like the program. I am just trying to learn how to use MSI through it. THanks!
  12. I have a Windows Xp desktop home plugged into a 4 port Netgear wireless hub that connects to my cable modem. I have two boxes, both running Windows 2003 server (basically 700Mhz machines) with small harddrives. I wanted to get recommendations or ideas as to how you would set this network up and what would you do with each box? What else would you add at a cheap price that would help give me LAN knowledge that I should add and why? I am trying to put together a small network that is easy to use and manage and at the same time gives me opportunity to learn from. Thanks!
  13. I assume I need to purchase some third party software that I use to actually create the MSI packages? Was not sure if Windows XP has it within the OS. I have NEVER created an MSI so I am pretty much lost!! Thanks!
  14. I am new to MSI installer packages, but we have a desktop management program on our network that it suppose to be able to also push out software installations and if I am reading it righ I have to create an MSI package. I did a search on "creating MSI packages" and I came across a Microsoft article that discusses it. It says I need Veritas Software Console by Seagate. Is this true? Hypothetically, I want to create a MIS package for installing Adobe Reader 7. If anyone can provide me with some helpful instructions or tidbits I would appreciate it. Thanks!
  15. I think I figured it out. I cant use 7Zip. I used WINRAR and I can see the ISO file.
