As an alternative to the electives that are listed in the Electives Table, these certifications or certification combinations may substitute for an MCSA elective: MCDST, MCSA on Windows 2000, MCSE on Windows 2000, MCSE on Windows NT 4.0, CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network+, CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Server+, CompTIA Security+

 

Upgrade exam for an MCSA on Windows 2000 (one exam required): 70-292

 

1 These exams retired in March 2008.

2 This exam will retire in March 2009.

3 Exam 70-227 and Exam 70-350 satisfy both the MCSA elective requirement and an MCSA: Security specialization requirement.

4 Exam 70-620 can count one time toward a core client exam or an elective exam, but not toward both. Exam 70-284 satisfies both the MCSA elective requirement and an MCSA: Messaging specialization requirement.

3 Candidates who passed Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Exams 70-067, 70-068, and 70-073 had the option of taking the comprehensive Exam 70-240: Microsoft Windows 2000 Accelerated Exam for MCPs Certified on Microsoft Windows NT 4.0. By passing this exam, candidates met the following exam requirements: Exam 70-210, 70-215, 70-216, and 70-217. Exam 70-240 is no longer available.
