Antivirus

Recommended Posts

Sometimes the best things in life are free !!

I think both Avast and AVG are pretty good alongside Comodo Firewall.

I Dont think these Statistics are very true.

i am using NIS with Avast and they are handling 99.9% Viruses and Worms.

Never had any Problem

In effect it really depends on personal experiences, I've heard of poeple who love Norton stuff which personally I dont like :) So members keep your comments coming it is the best way to choose :P

I never recommend Norton's Antivirus, since :

1. It is not free

2. Its performance is low

3. It uses more of CPU and RAM

4. It makes the system to hang more

5. Its Updating process gets so long

6. .....

I just prefer the utiliyties of norton like Norton ghost image maker is my favourite

Regards

Just to look at the Marketing Stuff and compare the featureset makes no sense.

1st place for a AV the isn't available for 64-bit architecture ????

It's year 2008! Vista don't make any sense if not 64-bit!

If you want something free then use either AVG or NOD32 but if you want to buy an anti-virus then I suggest using Mcaffee. I find that Norton takes up to much resources on the computer unless if you tick the settings that it is as good as Mcaffee.

Nod 32 Business edition is Best, u can use it at both server and client sides. it also got nice feature of Mirror, in which the server updates the clients signature files, NO Need for clients to update manually or from Internet :P

Responsibility is the best antivirus. That's not to say you shouldn't have an antivirus program, accidents to happen, and something things are beyond your control.

Don't download arbitrary programs from the Internet, don't open email attachments, don't use programs known to be insecure, etc. This means getting a web browser other than IE (Opera and Firefox are good, free alternatives), using a reliable (or web based) mail client and keeping everything up to date. Just use your head.
