Hello to RHEL experts,

I have RHEL 5 Enterprise, however during the installation I make it "Server" only but I need to compile some apps in my server how can I add the Development Tools RPMs (eg. GCC, glibc)?
When I open Package Manager, it doesn't show available packages.

Any response is appreciated.

all the packages mention on this website are there in the CDS!!! just go to the Server Section of the DVD iam not sure which CD that would be!!!! but generally during installation in the Development section when you go to the optional pacakages you should fine gcc!!! include it during your installation!!! you would not face any prblems of dependencies!!!! I have a yum server setup so i just run yum install gcc!!!

if you are having an internet connection on a linux box create a repoisotory pointing to the Fedora Mirrors!!! and then run
yum install gcc!!! this way u should get the latest packages of gcc as well

Note: always check for the MD5sum for the packages tthat u are dowloading!!!
