This is a little (or a lot) out of topic, it's Darby's thread, but I hope he forgives me.

ManishBehal, you mentioned green future.
Right, it's a big thing. We should all consider beeing "greener" ..... they say.

I have a opposite opinion. Most people argue hard against me.

I don't believe in global warming. I consider it the biggest bluff in history.

A lot of scientists don't agree with the "fact" of global warming. They just don't get as
much space in the media as the "belivers".
The hacked emails just before COP15 told a story of the UN scientists behind "global warming"
lies and manipulates data.

Why?

I believe that "from a helicoper view" this "global warming" serves the interrest of the
western world.
Big countries like India and China is becomming the economical heavyweights in the future.
The western world will lose production, wealth and leadership.

The best way to slow down this development is to restrict energy consumption.
Hard restrictions on increased power consumption in developing countries like
China, India and Africa will keep the western world in leadership for a longer time....

Yes, I live in Europe, but I don't like to see the trillions of $$$ that will be spend on
useless green energy, - when they could save millions of starving children in Africa from death.

It's remarkable, that during the last 10 years, just as China and India begins to show their muscles, then a lot of documentation pops up, -showing the world will
go under, if China and India begins to use as much power as the western world does ??

Sorry, out of topic .... but sometimes I can't keep quiet ...

Back to Cisco .... ;)

Hmmm...

I'm not certain about global warming.

I am certain something is going on worldwide that is very much on par with movies like 2012 or the other one where the world froze over (I forget the name but I own it).

We've seen quite a few natural disasters in less than a 10 year span that do make me wonder what's up. It might be cyclical in nature. It might be plate techtonics. It could be warming (from the inside more than the outside - seismic activity / plate shifts in the crust / ???). I've people mention or try to about sending spacecraft and causing holes in the ozone. You name it.

The el nino and la nina have been very pronounced in recent years (cyclical). Living in the vicinity of Katrina (New Orleans was my original "home town", being present and accounted for during the 4 hurricanes that ripped through my neighborhood... all of this is nothing to compare to the Tidal wave that struck Southeast Asia... then we have Haiti and literally days late Chile... previous to those by a few years the mudslides and lots of natural disasters I'm leaving out...

Some of these might be called disasters of biblical proportions - is a term I've heard thrown around.

Something is going on in the neighborhood.

I've not been political enough to equate the issue with global politics so that concept was not even on my radar.

I know before I ever heard the term "global warming" back when I was about 8 years old - living in New Orleans - I recall a forecast stating that in about 30 years certain parts of Florida would be underwater... that was over 30 years ago and where I live it is still quite dry. Maybe not for long.

The problem I see is that disasters of natural origin have always been present. They just have.

Lately they seem pretty bad - no doubt - and they are. Anytime 1,000 - 200,000 people die in an afternoon - that's pretty bad in my book. Not to belittle the loss of even a single life or even a single injury.

I'm not certain of what we read and hear... and I don't like the idea that the media can "help us" form our opinions so "easily". No matter whether we are east or west.

I do know these disasters are bad...

Chile... Haiti... Venezuela... I gotta tell you if Texas, Alabama, Mississippi or Florida start having earthquakes...

People we got problems...

Hi Darby

Yes, we just saw some bad earthquakes, and I'm sure that if it any way was possible
to connect them to CO2, -then we would hear about it. So far .... not yet.

We consider ourselves more "educated" than people used to be. We have the internet, we have
access to any information we like ...... we believe.

We are talking about manipulation of the masses.

The situation right now is that every scientist in any major univercity in the world gets
funds, -if they work for "global warming". Scientist with different opinions gets their
funds cut away. Scientists have to pay their bills too ...

I saw a program some months ago in tv. It was about the "other" scientists. They complained
about no money for reseach and threats from "above".
Some well-known scientists had to threat UN with legal action, their reseach had been heavily
twisted and manipulated. To fit the UN climate report.

Sorry about this Darby, perhaps I shoulden't begin this discussion

Guys concur something is going on just not sure what. Excluding the earthquakes, I mean you really gotta be a tinfoil-hat guy to believe that global warming could cause that, the loss of life is tremendous and my prayers go out to the survivors but global warming causing them? I live in northern New England and while DC was getting buried by snow it was a balmy 20° and not snowing. The last 2 winters were brutal 30+ feet of snow, highs in the teens for 2+ months, just horrible. This year every time it gets bad down south, it warms up, not even 10 feet of snow this year!!! The weather is just crazy last spring I was in the middle of nowhere in Minnesota and it was 98°, come on it snowed in North Florida this winter! But as to the conspiracy there is something to that, in addition in trying to maintain the current power structure don’t forget the “cap and trade” program for carbon credits. It’s become big business to be ahead of the curve on “global warming”. However if you really want to go out there is credible evidence that at least the rich northern countries are doing something, even Angela Merkel said something about weather modification. Ever hear of “chemtrails”? I know this is out of the mainstream but do a little googling, read about barium doped aluminum oxide being sprayed all over the globe. Please note that right after Copenhagen shares of Alcoa and other Aluminum companies increased their share price in excess of 25%, or maybe people are just drinking 25% more beer?

I dont know much about the global warming, know only what i have seen seen on TV and in newspaper. But I also agree on your point of view if countries like India and China will use as much amount of power and resoruces as other western countries then what will happen? Have you researched about global warming?

Sad part is most of the people can't even locate India in the world map.

Reason behind that is that the country is so small... and the population is exploding. Being the biggest population in the world - obviously is nothing to be proud at. China has land mass, however unproductive but there is land mass. India doesnt even have that.

If you have seen Al Gore's movie the inconvinient truth you get to know a lot of things (May be hyped) but I think they do exist.

Seems house warming and global warming is related.

BQoBD I think your right, I don’t believe in conspiracy theories but if you look at history it reveals not just an exploitation scheme of non-1st world countries by the 1st world, but actual pogroms and behind the scenes work to engineer everything in their favor. Think the overthrow of Mosaddegh in Iran or the duplicitous US actions with Saddam Hussein. The sad part here is that the innocent suffer in the maelstrom created by the power elite. Conquer by division is an old script and as long as the people are ignorant of this they’ll believe anything, and the people of the world will never be united in the realization that the people have ALL the POWER!!!
The similarities of the people of the world are much more then the disagreements; everyone wants a women/man, everyone wants a little piece of something to call a home, everyone wants to help their children and grand-children achieve!!!
What else is there in life?

Right one third of USA.

http://en.wikipedia....aphics_of_India

The demographics of India are remarkably diverse. India's population of approximately 1.17 billion people (estimate for July, 2009) consists of more than one-sixth of the world's population.

Think of resources v/s population.
