Hello

Just wanna ask from members of the forum who have faced interviews conducted by representative of HR department for jobs related to Information Technology what kind of questions do these guys ask.

Many say that HR people try to corner a person in an interview !!

Please share your experience and also please suggest appropriate answers for the questions you have come across ....

I was asked the following.... besides for getting married and having a family, and my education, what was my biggest accomplishment in life. Those are basically my biggest accomplishments so I didn't know what to say. My answer was that my accomplishment does in a way have to do with both education and family but in a diff way. I told him it was my getting certified while bringing up my family. His response was that it was my wife’s accomplishment not mine. Because she was able to deal with the family while I was at school and studying.

While interviewing for the job I had now, one interviewer asked me how many children I had... like that was related to systems analysis and design...

I've had HR folks mostly ask the personality questions... really they want to know you are an honest person, a good fit for the company, and not going to need to be fired...

The biggest opportunities in the HR round are to get dropped for not being a good fit for the company so if you can do research on the company employees you can probably succeed if you're not wierd. Relax a little and treat this as a sales call where you are the salesman and your objective is to show HR that you have integrity, loyalty, and the ability to "work and play well with others". Note that the "receptionist" is often one of the people who grade your appearance and behavior.

Good hunting!!

Wow i love his response. He must be very clever interviewer. :P
Interesting to read some strange questions here.
Yes most of the interviews ask mainly personal stuffs and sometime hard to answer.

Completely I agree with you. They always ask these questions. They can add more questions relating position you apply.
You should prepare answer samples for them first. It makes you more confident....

General questions are:

1)Describe yourself.
2)Tell me your strengths and wewaknesses (sometimes examples also).
3)Tell me about your greatest achievement.
4)What you know about this organization?
5)Why should we hire you?
6)How you achieve your goals?

They usually want to know about previous job expierence if you have any, or why you are looking to work for them. They also like to ask situational questions like, name a time when you were asked to... and how did you react.

There wont be any technical questions in HR round. Sure question will be introduce yourself, so prepare well for that. Then they will ask about your family background, schooling, college life, aim in life, positives & negatives. just speak free as you speak to your friend. Make them understand you are the best choice for the post.
