Hi Ahmed,

I would say, this is a great source for last minute revision..

Can you check the following comments and update?

page 23

The ip verify unicast source reachable-via rx command enables Unicast RPF in STRICT MODE

page 52 rate-limit

int fax/y

rate-limit input 512000 1500 2000 confirm-action transmit exceed-action drop---- why do we need, if question asks only control icmp traffic??

page 54

what do mean by "priority-list 1 default low"?

Are we puting control packet to a default queue???

Page-56

I doubt without configuring "frame-relay traffic-shaping" under main interface, map-class will work?

Can you confirm this?

Refer: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk543/tk545/technologies_tech_note09186a008009489a.shtml

Page 58

For the route-map INbound no need of "set mpls-label", since its just receive the routes..

If we are redistributing from bgp to igp of remote-AS loopback (I-AS option 2c) we need to use "match mpls-label"

Regards,

Kanna

Dear Friend,

Thanks for the Notes!!

I m CCIE R&S lab certified and planning to go for CCIE in SP now. I would like to know which books should I read for CCIE SP written exam to build the concepts? So, I can purchase only those books and start preparing.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Ahmed,

I would say, this is a great source for last minute revision..

Can you check the following comments and update?

page 23

The ip verify unicast source reachable-via rx command enables Unicast RPF in STRICT MODE

(Yes, it confirm that the packet recivied from the interface is routed through it )

page 52 rate-limit

int fax/y

rate-limit input 512000 1500 2000 confirm-action transmit exceed-action drop---- why do we need, if question asks only control icmp traffic??

(i provided 2 ans, 1 for all traffic, and another one for ICMP using ACL 101)

page 54

what do mean by "priority-list 1 default low"?

Are we puting control packet to a default queue???

priority-list 1 protocol ip high list 121

priority-list 1 protocol ip high tcp bgp (this is an option rather than ACL)

priority-list 1 default low

access-list 121 permit tcp any eq bgp any

access-list 121 permit tcp any any eq bgp

From the above config, all other traffic rather than BGP will be in default queue, which is shaping capable.

you may include other control protocols in ACL 121 if needed so, like OSPF, MPLS

Page-56

I doubt without configuring "frame-relay traffic-shaping" under main interface, map-class will work?

Can you confirm this?

Refer: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk543/tk545/technologies_tech_note09186a008009489a.shtml

Its mainly an OS issue, if your using GTS CLI, u wont use shaping cmd under main interface, try it, if OK use it, if not just remove it

Page 58

If we are redistributing from bgp to igp of remote-AS loopback (I-AS option 2c) we need to use "match mpls-label"

Yes no need in inbound route-map, but its mandatory for outbound route-map

Kanna
