Hi

I have a multiple VPN's which I need to keep in an active state, as usual the tunnel lifts but after time = X it goes down if there is no intersting traffic. When this happens a network monitor detects "link down" an sends an alarm..

I need to make sure that the tunnel stays up to prevent this, the topology is quite simple

LAN A<>VPN<>WAN<>VPN<>LAN B

I have tried lifetime under crypto isakmp pol 1 and crypto ipsec sa idle etc but with no result

Any thought welcome.

You can try using IP SLA feature, but only if your IOS supports it.

It was the most pragmatic solution :)

ip sla monitor 6

type echo protocol ipIcmpEcho x.x.x.x source-ipaddr x.x.x.x

frequency 3600

ip sla monitor schedule 6 life forever start-time now

That did the trick
