High of AP installation impacts

Recommended Posts

In the installation guide of cisco 1520 AP is written as follow:

"The access points can be installed at any height, but best throughput is achieved when all the access points are mounted at the same height. We recommends installing the access points no higher than 40 feet to allow support for wireless clients on the ground. "

There is cisco documentation that explain what appen if the APs will be installed more than 40 feets from the ground?

What i need is a document that explain the impact of the high of the AP to user connectivity...

For example what happen is the AP are installed at 50,60,70 feets... There are some formula on this???

No need to use formulas for this, the engineers that designed the antenna have already done it, look at the elevation graph for the antenna your using.
