Using 1 percent iomem. [10Mb/512Mb] I think
1. Boot to rommon
2. Type enable Smart Init

you're sure the IOS fits in to mem? or it might be corrupted image.

Yep - it has been working in a production environment for a while now.
I think first i will get a new IOS on the flash and see if that does it.

can you remove ram from bank1 and see if it boots and then substitute mem in bank0 with mem from bank1 ? I think you are correct about the memory but you just need to identify which one?

I opened it up last night and there is only one RAM stick in there (512MB) - i am going to "borrow" one and give that a try tonight. I will let you know how it goes.
Thank Mark.

Now in a strange turn of event - the router just booted!
I wiped the running config - did a sh ver and besides the IPS there was a ton of crash info. Reloaded the beast and it showed the same issue but with this little nugget -
I am thinking the sdram ecc error mean the RAM is fudge?
I replaced the IS via tftpdnld that seems ok.
