Hi!

I am preparing for 642-813 using both books:
CCNP SWITCH Official Cert Guide and
Implementing Cisco IP Switched Networks, Foundation Learning Guide

Now - the first one (cert guide) lists "Switch Spoofing" as one type of attack and "Vlan hopping" as (separate) another type of attack.
The second book (foundation learning guide) lists them both under -General Term- of "Vlan hopping" - Which comes in two flavors: "Switch spoofing" and "Double tagging".

Now, there are some questions regarding this in Netacad curriculum (example attached). Which (according to correct answer provided by Cisco) renders the explanation in Cert Guide as a wrong one... Can someone offer any clarification on this subject?

Simplified question:

Are:
Switch spoofing, Vlan hopping - two separate attack types?
Switch spoofing, double tagging - variants of the same attack type (Vlan hopping)?

Thank you!

VLAN hopping is achieved by switch spoofing and double tagging. Hope it helps .
