GBIC/SFP GBIC configuration

Dear,

I have a cisco 7609 router with SFP-GE-S One of my customer that have point to point 1G fiber connectivity from my premisses and his side But problem is on the customer side he is using 7206VXR (NPE-G1)router with GBICs. i just want to know if we connect both Router from my side SFP and his side Gbic it will work or not.

as long as the GBIC and SFP are of the same spec (i.e. SX, LH etc). it will work

it not working i have already change duplex ,speed and auto-negotiation . some time its showing (7206)down down ,up up and up down .i have checked the gbic is ok but the link is not working.

so what is the fiber plant your running on? what are the GBIC/SFPs what are the signal levels?

how can i check the signal level in router.telecom people are saying that they are getting -34 power level from 7206 router

-34 is equal to disconnected.
you can check signal levels using
sh int <type><num> transciever
mind you it depends on the SPF/GBIC used they must have DOM implemented.

Check on both GBIC and SFP...you can either remove the GBIC and SFP or show inventory....Modules should be the same on both end either SX-SX or LX-LX..

The 7609 has a Lx module (your Router ) the customer router (7206) has media type is SX ,this is cleary visible in your show interface commands you pasted so you need to change the module at one end .
