My comapnay is migrating its core switches in the thre Data Centers from current Cisco 6509-VSS yo Nexus 7K. Has someone here done this sort of migration? does anyone have migration case studies which you can share.

There are 2 different scenarios's I am dealing with

1) in one of the smaller data center, we have the servers directly connected to VSS. These servers have NIC Teaming through which they get connected to the both chassis in the VSS in Primary/Active Mode. I think Migration startergy for this DC is not an issue

2) The other 2 DC have , following topology

Cisco 6509-VSS ( Core) ----- > Cisco 6509 and Nexus 5K as Distribution Switches ( Mix of both 6509 and N5K) --- > Servers

In this scenario Cisco 6509-VSS is also the Root for all VLAN in STP.

Can someone suggest how should these be migrated ? Any ideas

Regards
HS
