Route-policy Default Behaviour in IOS XR

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

just an hepl on a thing which is not quite clear fron Cisco documentation. Does Route Policies in IOS XR have the same "implicit deny all" as route-maps in IOS ?

For instance, consider the following IOS XR Route Policy, to be applied to a BGP neighbor in the input direction:

route-policy SET-LP

if community matches-any (65000:150) then

set local-preference 150

endif

end-policy

What happens to a BGP UPDATE that contains for instance a Community 65000:1 ? Is it dropped (as it would happen with rout-maps) ? Or is it accepted (as it would happen for instance with JUNOS-like routing policy) ?

In case I need all the routes to be accepted do I need to change the Route Policy as follows ?

route-policy SET-LP

if community matches-any (65000:150) then

set local-preference 150

endif

else

pass

end-policy

I thank in advance everybody who can help me.
