I just took both the 70-624 and 70-631 tests back to back and passed with great scores today

Wow this has shrunk considerably since I last view this forum!

Well after spending a lot of time in the Cisco world I decided to venture back to Microsoft today and take the 70-631 exam. I passed it rather easily.

In respect for the moderators and for the general learning community I will break things down as:


1. Material used

I never actually read a text book for this. First time in about ten exams. I read a few reviews and decided that what was on offer was not worth purchasing. I spend a lot of time on Technet and Google suring things up that I was not positive about. My best experiences I found was through troubleshooting. When practising I often rush so make mistakes which give me something to problem solve.

My main study was through CBT Nuggets and Tra@insignal. I watched both twice. The later set me up for both the 631 and 630.


2. Learning Plan

I have been recently addicted to Ubuntu Linux so I ran three or so servers on Sun Virtual Box. Lots of playing around and going along with the videos. I have used collaborative style software at work a bit so the concept is not entirely new to me.

I spent about three weeks studying for both exams.


3. Suggestions for members

Both 630 and 631 are very similar in content and objectives. It makes sense to study both at the same time and sit the exams close together.


Next will be 70-630 which I am sitting tomorrow. Hope this helps and best of luck in the future.
