Hi,
In m ynetwork now we have approx 190 PC's. We have 1 Cisco layer III switch i.e. 3560 24 pts switch. I want to make this switch as a DHCP server & also want to create VLAN's. I went through following Cisco link
hxxp://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/switches/ps5528/products_configuration_guide_chapter09186a00801e85d5.html#74213

Any1 successfuly set up DHCP server on any Cisco switch ? What about performance ? I wont make my 1841 router a DHCP server. Any clues ? I want to save my desktop machines from leaving them just for DHCP server roles. Anybody who built Cisco switch as a DHCP server before ?

I downloaded "Cisco Network Assistant" tool. Quit helpful, but enabling DHCP server option is not there. I havent worked on this switch , so dont know commands to make this switch as a DHCP server. Any help ?

[ It's 3560 switch sorry by mistake I put title earlier 2560 . ]

In configure terminal mode, type "ip dhcp ?" and you'll see all the options there. We are using our 3560 as a DHCP server with no problems...

performance will be key.

i would suggest you to make the router as a dhcp server.

hows the connectivity between the router and the switch ?
