Speed reading - reading effectively, quickly while comprehending, retain & recall more information whenever you want.
- Tina Konstant, Tony Buzan

Mind Maps - radically change your note-taking technique, sorting out the important facts, establishing links, integration, anchors & hooks to other relevant info which you already know.
- Tony Buzan, Inegmar Svantesson

Mnemonics - improve memory, recall & association of info. Never forget anything again.
- Dominic O'brien

Practicals - Practice, practice & practice. Know your subjects & able to deliver them. Mastery means automatic & without effort.

Note : I like to divide knowledge gained for a particular IT subject into 2 groups :

#1 targeted at performance in exams
#2 targeted at performance in the real world

Comments & discussion welcomed.

Would experienced members please share your strategies & best practices for acquiring a certification or skill set, specifically for IT subjects? Thanks.

Many have downloaded from these links. I'd like to gather some feedback from members who have explored these techniques.

How are these new studying techniques working for you?

Which one do you find best for your local context?

Will you continue using it?

Thanks.

Funny you should drag this thread backup, I was thinking of it again recently.

I like the idea of being able to remember everything I've read and I certainly aspire to remember at least 50% over

a certain time frame, but again, if you don't use it u loose it...........practice helps, but then what happens if you forget

what it is you have to practice!

I'd be interested to know aswell....
