Anyway i had the phone interview and since you in knowledge of what question types you would face, this will make me type less
OK the recruiter who gonna call you will be most probably an indian with a british (pure english) accent, i know its hard for most of us, since all the movies we watch are american movies with american accent.
Also expect some noise while talking with him/her. i guess they are using some VoIP technologies and not pretty well implemented lol
Go to silent place and (if possible) connect your mobile to external speakers so you can hear them better, don't get confused (i admit it, i got confused in a question because i didn't expect it).
the question was "Please talk about Cisco for 2 minutes", and since I wanted to impress her and show her that am good, i was talking so i done with this part in only 30 seconds, though i had plenty of information about Cisco but my problem was is that i talked about major points in Cisco so nothing more to talk about then, (and later i realized that this question was to test your time-management skills).
Also my phone interview was on 2-October in this year, they still didn't talk until i sent them an email and asked them about the status, they told me to hold on and they will contact me on 1-Jan-2008 if they don't find more adequate candidates.
I wish you good luck my friend, may allah be with you.
if you need any information send me at khero_na@yahoo.com i will be happy if i can help you.
oops its 6:00 AM and i feel like am talking too much here sorry people for all this, but leedo find something here usefull

i had this phone interview and it was excellent... here are some tips you will find it useful for this and any other phone interview..
- for this interview...the language is English.
- usually stand up when u have this interview...and keep a lil bit smile in your face.. this will make your voice clear and you wont show any nervous if u have any..
- you should be smart...its a phone interview...no one know where you are or whats in front of you... all the recruiters believe when they set a phone interview with a candidate they expecting him/her to be well prepared.. thats mean have the documents you need in front of you... when they ask a question... you just waiting it not be shocked..because you were prepared... they expecting you to know they will ask these questions...its a common questions...
- its like the first homework to do...and the easiest...if u dont ...you are not Cisco type..
- some of the questions you might be asked :
* Tell me about yourself ?
* What do you know about cisco?
* Why do you want to work for us ?
* Why should we hire you ?
* What do you look for in a job?
* What do you know about the programme you applying for ( in your case ANCE )?
* What does Cisco do ?
* how did you know about this programme ?
etc etc etc ...
- try to summarize all these questions in small papers ... try to have only 2-3 papers in front of you... ( don't bring textbooks)
- i think the main idea for the phone interview is the company have A LOT of applicants... they need to cut them down to a reasonable number for the face-to-face interview...
- usually the phone interview takes 20-30 minutes.
- for the small papers...try to make you answers in points..not paragraph..this will make it easy to read... wait: not read like reading from the book,... i meant just to flashback while u talking..
- be relaxed ... read about Cisco... and keep your target to join this company...and it will happen...
if you need any help... just ask.
Good Luck

I had my telephone interview for the A-NCE programme back in November. I received an e-mail from Cisco a couple of weeks ago saying that my interview was successful and that they're now considering my application for the next stage (the assesment centre). They still haven't fixed a date for the AC yet but they reckon that it's going to be some time in July!!! Can anyone actually believe this. I mean, what kind of a recruitment process would take NINE MONTHS?!
I was just wondering if anyone else had a similar response from Cisco

I can not believe that they expect people to wait for such a length of time for a job, I might have completed 3 or 4 contracts in the same time. I personally could not wait for that amount of time.
Once you have completed all of the interview procedures and if you get a job offer what salary do they start you on ??

Good luck all,
I’ve applied yesterday, but that was before I know all about cover letters and how important they are
Do you think there is a chance that they will call me?? I mean did someone here apply his CV without a cover letter and got a phone interview.
With best regards,

This has made me curious, What is the role or roles that they are recruiting for?? What are the prerequisites for a first stage interview?? What kind of salary scale are they offering "I know this will vary greatly from country to country but if you can give me the price for a globally marketed item like a bottle of coke I will be able to calculate using that as a base figure" Where will they deploy you if you are employed e.g. field, desk, consult or other.
Really Really curious so please let me know.
